There is something about taking down Christmas decor that is therapeutic for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas, but I also love getting rid of all of the clutter that Christmas brings. I grew up with a mom who would take Christmas down on December 26, sometimes even on the evening of December 25. I don’t know about taking it down on the 25th, but I am a big fan of taking it down once it isn’t Christmas anymore. The problem is, once it is down, we enter the most awkward decorating time of the year. How do you decorate for winter when it isn’t Christmas? I have a post on that topic coming your way SOON, but today I will introduce you to my new winter wreath.
I love it! It was such an easy project too! Here’s what you need to make your own…
*Grapevine wreath
*Pine cones (these are SUPER cheap right now in the clearance Christmas sections)
*Ribbon
*Brooch (Mine is a fun piece of jewelry from the Styled. By Tori Spelling line)
*Spray paint in the colors you want. (I used white, blue, and silver)
*Krylon Glitter Blast spray paint
*Hot glue
Forgive me, I don’t have step by step pictures because I made this wreath at about midnight and I didn’t think the pictures would turn out well enough to even take them. PLUS, it is SO easy that I really don’t think you need pictures to learn to make a pine cone wreath.
1. Lay out your pine cones and spray paint them. I divided up my pine cones 3 ways because I had 3 colors.
2. After the pine cones have dried, set them on the wreath until you have the placement of where you want them to all be on your wreath.
3. Glue all of your pine cones onto your wreath.
4. Tie a bow with your ribbon and glue it onto your wreath.
5. Glue the brooch in the middle of the bow.
6. Spray the entire wreath with the Krylon Glitter Blast.
DONE! Isn’t it just dreamy?
