As I have said before, I am embracing Valentine’s Day this year and I have to admit, I am really liking it! What I love more than Valentine’s Day though, is going to Target and digging through their Dollar Spot section. For as inexpensive as everything is in there, I tend to spend a lot of money on all of that crap, including a few little Valentine mailboxes this year.
They started out cute already, but I knew that everyone in the entire world would have these and I wanted mine to be different. Enter the Sharpie markers. To make your own here’s what you need…
* Little mailboxes
*Sharpie markers
Ha! Really intense and detailed, right? Well, I tried to kind of think of ways to make each of our mailboxes a little different, but still embrace who each of us are. For Dave’s (his is my favorite), I did a subway art of things that describe him. It is really easy. Just start writing words and use different fonts and colors to do it as you go.
For Harper’s, she is sweet and girlie so I wanted to do something sweet and girlie. I drew hearts and swirls on her mailbox. Mine is all about geometric prints. I love any geometric pattern so I just went to down with little dashes and shapes until I filled up my entire mailbox.
It was a fun little doodle session to have while I watched a little TV during Harper’s nap. It is a really easy way to bring some personality to those $1 Target mailboxes.
