Growing Herbs at Home

I have really loved having a little garden this year. Last summer, we had to leave our garden when we sold our house. Because we are renting right now, I decided to plant my garden in pots that I can move to any house we move to. I won’t have to leave my precious plants behind! This year, we decided to try growing herbs at home too.

If you are growing herbs at home, I highly recommend keeping them in pots. You can move them indoors when it gets too hot or cold and put them next to a window. I purchased good soil to plant the herbs in so that the herbs could be in the best environment they could be. We are growing basil, cilantro, and rosemary. The basil and rosemary have both done really well. The cilantro hasn’t done as well because we had so many high temperatures. The cilantro didn’t like the heat!

I thought that the cilantro was done for, but it has started sprouting again and has started producing leaves again. The thing that I have learned about growing herbs at home is that herbs need water, but not too much water. Make sure that the dirt is wet, but don’t over water the plants. Watch the herbs closely and bring them inside if they look like they are struggling at all.
