I teach the 3 and 4 year old kids at my church and I wanted a fun gift that I could give them. I wanted to give them something that was an activity but was also about the Christmas story. That is when I came up with these adorable Playdoh mats that they could create their own nativity scenes on. They were really easy to put together and the kids were so excited to get them!
Nativity Playdoh Mat Supplies
Laminator with laminating sheets or adhesive laminating sheets
Play-Doh (I gave these as gifts, so I bought this large pack of Play-Doh that I could give to the kids in my church class)
Nativity Printable Gift Tags (if you are giving these as gifts)
Cellophane bags (if you are giving these as gifts)
Christ Centered Christmas Activity
This is an easy craft that kids of all ages can participate in. My 10 year old, 5 year old, and 1 year old all enjoyed playing with the nativity mat!
The best part about it is that it is a simple way to bring in a Christ centered Christmas activity, among all of the other festivities happening. It is fun to see how they imagine the nativity scene would have looked like.
Christmas Primary Gift Idea
If you are giving this as a gift to children at your church, don’t forget to print off the gift tags! I printed them off and attached them to a cellophane bag with the Play-Doh in it. They were a huge hit with my Sunbeam class, made up of kids ages 3-4 years old. It would be fun for kids much older as well though.
