I am so ready for the sun to warm up this frozen tundra I live in currently. I miss what it feels like to be warm all of the time. I can’t wait for summer to come again. Sometimes I feel like winter can not only kill all of the plants and flowers, but it can kill the romance too! It may be because we become less active and unwilling to go out and fight the cold all of the time so we become hermits. Well, thanks to the book Seductive Tables For Two by Moll Anderson, I was inspired to create a romantic picnic for two inside of our house as a way to escape the cold, but also escape the day to day house life.
I call it my Indoor Passionate Picnic. I was inspired by the Passionate Picnic that Moll Anderson created in her book. Moll Anderson is a romance expert that makes it easy to entertain your husband at home! Every page is packed full of gorgeous photos to be inspired by. They will have you ready to romance it up all year long.
I obviously didn’t have the budget that she had when she created her beautiful picnic, so I worked with what I had and did a little shopping at Walmart. To see my full shopping experience, look here. I laid out a few blankets and pieces of fabric that I had to bring in some rich colors and textures.
I loved the thoughts of being able to lay on the blankets with some soft pillows while we ate fruit dipped in cream cheese fruit dip with cheese and crackers. That sounded like a perfect way to bring a little romance into our picnic.
I feel like it turned out perfect! I love all of the rich colors running together. The flowers are a nice way to forget about the cold, wet snow outside too. This is the perfect setting for cuddles and deep conversations. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion to do something special for that special someone. It doesn’t have to be over the top and lavish either. Not all of these table settings are out of reach. I love that she gives you her advice to creating your own romantic table setting to really ignite the flame so that you can customize it to your style.
